Join us for Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP) 14th Annual Meeting and Awards Reception at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22 at Harrisburg University. During the meeting, HYP leadership will share the organization's vision for the future and recognize the accomplishments of its members.
Dauphin County Commissioner Mike Pries will share his outlook by addressing the audience as the event's keynote speaker.
"The City of Harrisburg has faced several challenges within the past year. We are proud our Annual Meeting can serve as a catalyst to action by bringing together local leaders and our members to identify ways we can unite to overcome these challenges," said HYP President Meron Yemane. "Our organization remains committed to Harrisburg and its future as a great place to live, work and play.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Representatives from the Harrisburg School District's Student Council Executive Board will be on hand to collect books in memory of Harrisburg School District teacher and Harrisburg High School graduate Tarina Fields-Price. All those attending are strongly encouraged to bring one or more new or gently used school-aged books to contribute to the overall goal of collecting 250 books which will be donated to the school's library.
A reception, also held at Harrisburg University, will follow the meeting. During the reception, HYP's executive leadership will recognize those who have made a significant impact on the community through by presenting HYP's annual awards. Award categories include Business of the Year, Project of the Year, HYP Member of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and more.
