HYP Sports is now offering tennis for FREE! HYP Tennis is open to all ages and levels of play. Please bring your own racket and tennis balls. Even if you don't want to play, feel free to watch, hangout, and enjoy the summer weather. After tennis, the group will usually go out for lunch.
Registration is not required. If it is raining, or the courts are soaked from an overnight rain, there will be no tennis that day. For directions and any other questions, please contact tennis@hyp.org.
Rooftop Films, in collaboration with Clean Water Action, present the Sundance award winning documentary GASLAND in Harrisburg this September. Following the screening, producer and director Josh Fox will host a panel discussion to provide a truly insightful picture of the natural gas drilling technique commonly known as fracking. Fox appeared on The Daily Show following the national premiere of GASLAND on HBO on June 21, 2010 and epitomizes a grassroots activist. For more information, please email arts@hyp.org.

The Outreach Committee meets each month to discuss current events and to plan future events. Join us on the second Monday of every month at 5:30pm at the Crowne Plaza Lounge.
The Membership Committee will meet each month to discuss membership opportunities and to plan events involving membership. Join us on the third Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza to play a role in supporting and expanding the membership of HYP in Central Pennsylvania.
The Day of Caring is the largest one-day mobilization of volunteers in the Capital Region. The event brings together volunteers from local companies and organizations to help to complete projects for area non-profits that would otherwise go undone. The United Way matches volunteers and projects for the day to perform a wide range of duties, including painting, landscaping, computer assistance, reading to children, organizing files, sorting donations and outdoor clean up.

The Dagoba - Tröegs Capital City Adventure Challenge, sponsored by the East Shore YMCA, will be held on September 25, 2010. This exciting 4-6 hr. event will test the mental, physical and emotional skills of each 3 member team as they run the gauntlet of trials. Net proceeds from the 2010 Capital City Adventure Challenge will benefit the child care operations of the East Shore YMCA. Volunteers for this event are needed to help direct contestants at exciting on and off-road locations in and around Harrisburg.
Social Committee needs your help, we are looking for new HYP members to join the Social Committee in 2010. The Social Committee will meet each month to discuss various socials and upcoming event opportunities and to plan a number of events throughout the year. Join us on the last Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at McGrath's Pub (second floor by the couches).
