Our mission for the 3-Star Mentoring Program is as follows: to raise up, challenge and educate the youth in the city of Harrisburg on pertinent issues such as spirituality, education and leadership through a mentoring program that collaborates with other youth organizations who have the same goal. We are going into our third year of establishing ourselves in the community and we have experienced a great deal of success in terms of developing meaningful relationships and helping them in life. The program uses basketball as the platform to draw the youth (9th to 12th grade) and we organize a league that puts coaches to each team. We incorporate mentoring as well as character talks to challenge them to not only strive for success on the basketball court but also in the classroom, at home and in the community.
As we move forward, the program is expanding and we are planning to provide more opportunities and services this upcoming season.
